THR is reporting that Rosamund is voicing a character in the new series “Moominvalley”.

An all-star cast has been assembled for the upcoming animated TV series centered on the Moomins, the central characters in a series of hugely popular Scandinavian children’s books,

Rosamund Pike, Taron Egerton, Kate Winslet, Warwick Davis, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade, Will Self and Akiya Henry will lend their voices to Moominvalley, which is being produced by Finnish studio Gutsy Animations. Steve Box, formerly of Aardman and an Oscar winner for co-directing Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit with Nick Park, will helm.

The Moomins, created by Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson and first published in 1945 and now one of Finland’s biggest cultural exports, are a family of white, almost hippopotamus-shaped fairy tale creatures who have adventures in the fictitious Moominvalley. Nine books were released in the original series, and there have been numerous TV and film adaptations in a number of languages.

At Cannes this year, Alicia Vikander was announced as the lead of the voice cast for an upcoming feature-length stop-motion animated pic.

The latest small-screen adaptation — currently slated for two seasons of thirteen 22-minute episodes and set to air in spring 2019 — will have Egerton, soon to be seen reprising his role of Eggsy in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, voicing Moomintroll, the young, curious boy of the Moomin family. Pike will voice the wise, caring protector Moominmamma, with Berry as Moominpapa.

‘We are thrilled with this stellar cast, who have been carefully chosen to inhabit Tove Jansson’s much-loved characters,” said Gutsy Animations creative director and executive producer Marika Makaroff. “They will speak to audiences young and old, and for the family drama that we are creating, which doesn’t shy away from the depth and complexities of Jansson’s original work, they couldn’t be a more talented or suitable lineup.”

Deadline is reporting that Rosamund is set to portray American reporter Marie Colvin in a untitled film about the reporter.

Rosamund Pike has been set to portray Marie Colvin in the untitled film about the American reporter who worked in conflict zones including Chechnya, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, where she lost her left eye in 2001. Colvin, who wore a distinctive eye patch after that, died in early 2012 during a rocket attack covering the civil war in Syria for the U.K.’s Sunday Times.

Production begins in October in the U.K. and Middle East. Arash Amel wrote the script, based on “Marie Colvin’s Private War,” a Marie Brenner article in the August 2012 Vanity Fair. Matthew Heineman is directing. He’s coming off Emmy and Oscar nominations for his documentary Cartel Land, after winning Best Director prize at 2015 Sundance. Amazon Studios acquired his latest docu City of Ghosts, to be released this summer by IFC. The Marie Colvin film is produced by Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Kamala Films’ Marissa McMahon, as well as Denver & Delilah Films. Erica Lee is exec producer.

Heineman also won the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary Award from the Directors Guild of America, the Courage Under Fire Award from the International Documentary Association and a George Polk Award in Investigative Journalism. He seems an ideal match to tell Colvin’s story. The drama has financing from Riverstone/Ingenious and will be sold by Bloom in Cannes.

Pike was Oscar nominated for Gone Girl and most recently completed the Scott Cooper-directed Hostiles opposite Christian Bale and Ben Foster, the Jose Padilha-directed Entebbe opposite Daniel Bruhl and the Brad Anderson-directed High Wire Act opposite Jon Hamm. She most recently starred with David Oyelowo in A United Kingdom. She is repped by Magnolia’s Shelley Browning, CAA and Dallas Smith at United Agents. CAA packaged the pic and is handling domestic rights.

Thunder Road just released John Wick 2. The Otto Bathurst-directed Robin Hood is in production; the Taylor Sheridan-directed Wind River premiered at Sundance; and The Current War, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon, recently wrapped production.

Deadline is reporting that Rosamund is in talks to join “Entebbe”. Daniel Bruhl and Vincent Cassel are reportedly also in talks to join the project.

Rosamund Pike, Daniel Bruhl and Vincent Cassel are in talks to board Jose Padilha’s Entebbe for Brit production powerhouse Working Title. Participant is also on board as producer and in negotiations to fully finance. In what is a near-perfect union of filmmaker, subject and cast, this is shaping up to be a major motion picture likely to attract plenty of interest — particularly given recent world events. Greg Burke, who wrote Yann Demange’s brilliant ’71, is penning the screenplay.

It’s the 1976 true story, when four hijackers — two Palestinian, two German — took a plane hostage and diverted it to land in Entebbe, Uganda, while they demanded the release of dozens of Palestinian and pro-Palestinian prisoners. The ticking-clock thriller follows the hijackers, hostages, then-Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and future PM Shimon Peres trying to decide whether to negotiate or launch a raid to free the hostages, as well as the French crew led by the pilot who refused to leave when they could with the other French hostages.

Given Europe’s own summer of terror, with the wave of attacks in France and Germany — not to mention devastating attacks in Iraq, Turkey, Orlando and elsewhere — the picture is likely to have strong contemporary relevance even with its historical setting.

Padilha, who shot to prominence with his gritty police crime tale Elite Squad — which won Berlin’s Golden Bear in 2007 — will bring his research-based documentary background to bear as he did so successfully in both Elite Squad films, his searing documentary Bus 174 and, of course his brilliant Pablo Escobar Netflix drama Narcos. Padilha will examine the story from multiple points of view – the German and Palestinian hijackers, the Israeli (and other nationalities) hostages, as well as Israeli officials like Peres and Rabin.

The story of the Entebbe raid and hijackings has been told before on TV and in numerous docus. Peter Finch and Charles Bronson starred in the 1976 NBC movie of the week Raid On Entebbe directed by Irvin Kershner (The Empire Strikes Back), while a rival TV movie Victory At Entebbe was produced the same year at ABC starring Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster. The latest project reps the first time the story will be told for the big screen by a filmmaking team at the absolute top of its game.

Pike has a number of anticipated films rolling out over the coming months including the Weinstein Company’s World War II drama-adventure HHhH opposite Jason Clark and Jack O’Connell and Amma Asante’s A United Kingdom. She also has Scott Cooper’s Hostiles opposite Christian Bale in production as well as Brad Anderson’s High Wire Act opposite Jon Hamm. She is repped by United Agents and CAA.

Variety is reporting that Rosamund is in negotiations to star in “Hostiles” along with Christian Bale.

Rosamund Pike is in negotiations to co-star with Christian Bale in Scott Cooper’s Western “Hostiles,” sources confirmed to Variety.

Cooper will write and direct, with Bale attached to star. Cooper will also produce with “Black Mass” producer John Lesher along with Ken Kao, who is also financing the pic through Waypoint Entertainment.

Set in 1892, “Hostiles” tells the story of a legendary Army captain (Bale) who agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to tribal lands. Making the harrowing and perilous journey from an isolated Army outpost in New Mexico to the grasslands of Montana, the former rivals encounter a young widow (Pike) whose family was murdered on the plains. Together, they must join forces to overcome the punishing landscape and hostile Comanche tribes that they encounter along the way.

Production is set to begin in July.

Sources say Cooper was drawn to Pike after seeing her in Massive Attack’s music video “Voodoo in My Blood,” which recently caused an Internet stir.

Pike recently wrapped production on the World War II thriller “HHhH” as well as “A United Kingdom” with David Oyelowo. She is repped by CAA, United Agents and Magnolia Entertainment.

Deadline is reporting that Rosamund is circling “Guernsey”, previously known as “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society”.

Much-in-demand Brit actress Rosamund Pike is circling long-gestating project Guernsey, with Harry Potter director Mike Newell also in the mix to direct. The project, previously known by the more unwieldy The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, has previously attracted a string of high-profile actresses to consider the formidable lead role, including Kate Winslet, Lily James and Rebecca Ferguson. The story follows a writer, as she forms an unexpected bond with the residents of Guernsey Island in the aftermath of World War II when she decides to write a book about their experiences during the war.

It is based on Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows’ bestselling novel with a script by Don Roos (Marley & Me). Mitchell Kaplan and Paula Mazur are producing via their Mazur/Kaplan Company banner.

There is still a ways to go before this project gets a green light, but the script remains a perennial favorite among Brit film execs, who praise the richness of the central character. Financing is coming together for this, with a number of players potentially in the mix and kicking the tires, including StudioCanal.

Pike’s career has gone from strength to strength following her astounding turn as the sociopathic wife in David Fincher’s Gone Girl opposite Ben Affleck. The actress has A United Kingdom opposite David Oyelowo in the pipelines, about the international scandal caused by the love affair in the 1940’s between Ruth Williams and Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana. Amma Asante directs that one. Currently filming now is Cedric Jimenez WW2 drama HHhH, about a Czech plot to assassinate despotic Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich. Mia Wasikowski, Jack Reynor and Jack O’Connell co-star in the film, which the Weinstein Co. has acquired for the U.S.

Pike is also attached to the Tony Gilroy-scripted High Wire Act opposite Jon Hamm, about a former U.S. diplomat who returns to service in order to save a former colleague in Beirut as well as Marc Webb’s The Only Living Boy In New York opposite Miles Teller and Jeff Bridges.

Pike is repped by United Agents and CAA.

So we’re super late with this due to us moving hosts and all but in case you missed it, it seems like Rosamund is in talks to star in a new project.

Having left behind one Marvel superhero, The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb is preparing to team up with another. Captain America star Chris Evans is set for Webb’s new movie Gifted, a Black List drama set up at Fox Searchlight.

Meanwhile, Webb’s other upcoming project The Only Living Boy in New York is also making some progress. Jeff Bridges and Rosamund Pike have just signed on for the Allan Loeb-scripted romance, joining Miles Teller. Get details on the Chris Evans Gifted casting and more after the jump.

Deadline broke news of the Chris Evans Gifted casting. Evans will play a man who, following the death of his sister, sues his own mother for custody of his gifted 7-year-old niece. Tom Flynn wrote the script, and Andy Cohen is producing with FilmNation. Shooting is slated to begin this fall, making Gifted Webb’s next movie.

In addition, Webb has been working for years on The Only Living Boy in New York, which has just moved from Fox Searchlight to Fox 2000. Shooting is expected to begin next year, which suggests it’ll be Webb’s next film after Gifted. Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa are producing, with John Fogel serving as executive producer.

Teller signed on last year to play a recent college grad who discovers his father is having an affair. He tries to put an end to the romance, only to fall for the other woman himself. Bridges and Pike are now in talks to round out the offbeat love triangle. One key role remaining to be cast is that of a quirky neighbor who offers the son romantic advice.

Webb made a huge splash with his debut feature, the indie romcom (500) Days of Summer. Its success helped Webb snare the director’s chair for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But now that that iteration of the franchise has ended, it looks like he’s swinging back to indie films.

Radar Pictures has tapped “Gone Girl” actress Rosamund Pike to star opposite Jon Hamm in Tony Gilroy’s political action thriller “High Wire Act.”

Brad Anderson is directing the movie, which Mike Weber is producing with partner Ted Field and Gilroy. Good Universe is handling international sales and CAA is representing the domestic rights.

Set in 1980s Beirut, pic has Hamm playing a former U.S. diplomat who is called back into service to save a former colleague from the group possibly responsible for his own family’s death. Pike plays a CIA field agent working undercover at the American embassy who’s tasked with keeping Hamm’s character alive and ensuring the mission is a success.

Pike’s upcoming projects include Pathe’s “A United Kingdom” and Legende Films’ “HHHH” with Echo Lake financing and FilmNation handling international sales.

Pike was nominated for a lead actress Oscar for “Gone Girl.” She is represented by CAA, United Agents and Magnolia Entertainment.
