Rosamund to star in “Violet Town”

Guy Pearce (‘Iron Man 3,’ ‘Lawless’) and British actress Rosamund Pike (‘Jack Reacher,’ ‘Wrath of the Titans’) are attached to star in the drama ‘Violet Town.’

Set in Australia in the 1950s, the film is based on Stephen Carroll’s 2010 novel ‘The Art Of The Engine,’ and is about a couple who attend a neighbour’s New Year’s Eve party where buried secrets are revealed. Bryan Brown (‘Beautiful Kate’) is also on board for a supporting role.

Mark Joffe (‘The Man Who Sued God,’ ‘The Matchmaker’) is directing, with the screenplay coming from Matt Cameron. Filming is scheduled for late 2013.
